Cycle Capital's mobility partner. Together, they're not just committed to sports. Besides a passion for inclusion in cars and on racing bikes, both companies are also actively committed to inclusivity and social responsibility.
Why does a-point support Cycle Capital?
Ties Visser (Škoda Brand Manager, a-point):
Cycling is part of Škoda’s DNA, and at a-point we support several local sports teams - football, hockey, field hockey, and cycling. We really like Cycle Capital’s concept of a business club combined with business rides, so supporting the team was a natural fit.
Christiaan Groenewoud (Manager, a-point Business Center):
It also aligns with our broader vision: we provide mobility, and cycling is an important form of mobility. We look at what people are passionate about, and sport is a big connector. It brings people together and builds networks. Supporting a cycling club in our region, especially one centred around mobility and community, is a strong match for us.
How can Cycle Capital contribute to competitive and recreational cycling in the Amsterdam region?
Christiaan Groenewoud:
I’m not a cyclist myself, so I looked at it through the lens of your model. What stands out is accessibility. You aim to compete at a high level, but you also organise business rides and entry-level rides. That makes cycling approachable for people with different backgrounds and goals. For a club in the Amsterdam area, that inclusive approach is a real contribution.
Ties Visser:
Nothing to add - fully agree.
What is the added value of the business network / partnerships for your (business) community?
Christiaan Groenewoud:
Sports connect people with a shared passion, which creates a positive atmosphere and aligns with how we want our brand to be experienced. The partnership creates two types of value for us:
- Product visibility. We sell cars, so we want people to experience Škoda and what we offer.
- Brand and business awareness. I run the a-point Business Centre, which includes our leasing and rental divisions. The business club helps us raise awareness of these services among business customers in Amsterdam.
What I particularly like about Cycle Capital is that the community comes from the members themselves. We’re not just placing a logo on a jersey; we’re part of a living network. That fits our vision better than traditional sponsorship.
For us it’s straightforward: visibility for our products, awareness for our business centre, and being part of a community built around shared passion.
