Stronger Together: Jessica Gal Sportartsen Joins Cycle Capital

Cycle Capital is proud to collaborate with Jessica Gal Sportartsen, a leading sports medical centre that specialises in supporting athletes to train, perform and stay healthy. We spoke with Jessica Gal, Jeroen Hasselaar, and Ilse Frans about why they chose to partner with Cycle Capital and how they see the collaboration developing.

Why do you support Cycle Capital?

We have been a sports medical centre for more than 15 years, supporting athletes across many sports. Recently we have further strengthened our focus on endurance sports, including cycling, by working closely with sports scientists and human movement specialists to help athletes optimise their training and performance.

Cycle Capital stood out to us because it is building a community that brings together many different areas of expertise around cycling, from training and performance to nutrition, equipment and training support. This aligns closely with how we work in daily practice. Together we can provide an even stronger ecosystem for cyclists.

We were also attracted by the ambition of the club and the idea of building a growing network around cycling in Amsterdam.

What are your expectations of Cycle Capital as a club?

For us, we see a great opportunity in connecting with a broad group of cyclists, not only elite athletes but also passionate recreational riders who want to understand their bodies and improve their performance.

Cyclists often want to know more about their physiology, health and training optimisation. Through sports medical examinations, performance diagnostics and sports scientific support, we can help riders better understand how to train and perform.

We are also developing new services such as bike fitting and deeper performance analysis. The type of motivated and engaged riders that Cycle Capital attracts are exactly the people who benefit most from that kind of expertise.

How do you think Cycle Capital can contribute to competitive and recreational cycling in the Amsterdam area?

One of the strongest aspects of Cycle Capital is its club identity. When members ride together in the club kit and represent the club on the road, it creates visibility and pride. That visibility naturally sparks curiosity and attracts more people into the sport.

Another important contribution is the network that Cycle Capital is building. By connecting businesses, athletes and specialists within the cycling ecosystem, the club creates opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

If that network continues to grow and the community keeps meeting - through rides, events and partnerships - it can become a powerful foundation for developing cycling in the region.

What is the added value of the business network for your practice?

For a sports medical centre like ours, the business network offers a valuable way to connect with other experts serving the cycling community.

Cyclists often have many questions, not only medical or physiological, but also related to nutrition, equipment, training or recovery. Being part of a network allows us to guide athletes to the right expertise when needed and also to collaborate with other professionals in the field. At the same time, it enables us to keep learning and further develop our own services.

In that sense, the network strengthens the overall support available to cyclists. It allows all of us to contribute our own expertise while helping riders get access to a broader range of knowledge and services. Ultimately, this benefits the athlete, who gains access to well-coordinated, high-quality support.
